My College Testimony - How I Made It Through College Days!

Oh My God!!! I can't believe I made it! I'm so excited right now because BSc is finally over. It’s been four wonderful and productive years of learning, cramming, growth, adventure, the worst and best forms of experiences put together. I couldn’t have done it all by myself, God literally stood beside me. He has brought me a mighty long way and I'm so grateful to him.

As my friends would say, 'It didn't easy' and I must confess of a true it wasn't all easy. Nobody even said it will be easy. I have had to come face to face with difficulties and challenges (plenty of scars) these four years and I even failed at a point but at the end, all these things are what makes us. It takes such a huge effort to make it this far, especially through thick and thin but most importantly; I believe it takes grace, direction, courage, perseverance, consistency, hard work, diligence, and the never giving up attitude to survive if you really want to make it in college.

On some days, I wished I could fit a memory card into my brain for exams but I had to stop wishing and start doing. You will be stressed and tired, you will be frustrated, you will sacrifice sleeps and you may even want to give up, but in as much as you want to, sometimes you just gotta wing it. I told God this is just a big deal for me, will I ever make it to the end? And He said to me; "Naomi, no matter how long you think your journey is, one day you'll get to the finish line" and I finally did get there.

Some encouraged me, while some laughed at me when they saw me struggling but guess what? It was the stones that bruised my feet that made me strong. It was the Gethsemane's in my life, those hard battles and testing times when I felt I was almost crushed and the waters almost overflowed that fashioned the qualities of courage and trust deep inside me. I found grace in my darkest hour and I just want you to encourage everyone still in college not to give up. No matter what you are pursuing in life, work hard at it and you will be rewarded.

Thanks to everyone who made this journey worth it for me; my parents, my family, my friends (Debby, Beebee, Grace, Eniola, Maimuna, Benita, J.P, e.t.c) and all my loved ones. Thank you all so much! It's been four wonderful years and I'm exceedingly grateful for everything!

Whoop whoop whoop....My joy knows no bound and I am really proud to say I finished strong. There is so much that awaits me out there and even though it seems a little bit scary, I'm ready to go and conquer.

So, to the #classof2015 #ABUZaria #finalists, I must say a very big congratulations to you all. Oh yeah...we made it!! Graduated to the glory of God🎓🎓🎓

This Is Why I Think School Is Fun!

Many students find it very difficult to believe that there is actually a good reason to love going to school. Oh yeah! I used to be like that but the good news is that, there is always a good reason for everything. There are a lot of fun and exciting moments that helps one get through the tough times in school. Why do most students cry or suddenly become sad whenever resumption date to school draws near? It's because they have not been able to find those amazing parts of being a student, which I will let you know now and I hope you do well in school with them because I care.

Born with a rare condition called 'Usher syndrome' a rare and incurable genetic disorder that can cause hearing loss and visual impairment. Joanne Milne has been deaf since she was born. In her mid twenties, this cruel condition started affecting her eye sight.

However, the now 41 year old woman made headlines last year when she began to hear sounds for the very first time after doing cochlear implants.

As she heard words being spoken to her for the very first time, it was a heart warming moment and dream come true for her. The video below showed her overwhelmed with emotion with a huge smile on her face as she struggled to fight back her tears. I find it really inspiring...anything is possible if you believe!

Happy Birthday to Apostle Joshua Selman!

With great honor and heart felt warmth and gratitude, I write this to an extraordinary man passionate about God and His kingdom come in our generation. ‎He is a very special person to the body of Christ and to me, although I have known him for about nine months now.

As most of you already know Apostle Joshua Selman Nimmak is the founder of KOINONIA, an arm of the ETERNITY NETWORK INTERNATIONAL (ENI) put together on a weekly basis where people come to experience intimacy and partnership with the Holy Spirit through worship, word, miracles and love.

Apostle Selman is a Godly role model, a great servant of God, an amazing leader with an outstanding leadership qualities. He believes so much in God, his principles, his way of life, and total surrender to the Lordship and authority of Jesus Christ. This man has blessed and inspired my life in almost all aspects and areas of life.

One of the greatest thing I know about him is that he honors the Lord our God with all his heart, really humble, kind, and with a very adorable voice. I have learned quite a lot from him within a short time but most importantly he has taught me to love, live and depend totally on God. His messages has blessed and transformed my life, it has also created in me a deep hunger for the things of God.

He has taught me on kingdom truths like; the principles and mysteries of the kingdom, gaining spiritual stature, the price for a glorious destiny, conquering cosmos, biblical keys to longevity, how to be financially independent, divine direction and lots more. The first day I saw him preach, I was like what manner of man is this? a bank of wisdom filled with much knowledge and power.

Sir, your constant reminder of the need to love the LORD lighted up my life. You are indeed a father, mentor, counselor, and a teacher. Your messages has deeply influenced me to be all that I can be in Christ Jesus.

You have been a wonderful part of so many people lives and you are our rose, in our hearts you will always be in full bloom. The glow of the spirit of God in you has infused with special light the world we inhabit.

Thanks a million Sir for your commitment to the kingdom, intellectual energy, words of knowledge, and wisdom. You are a great shepherd and with much love I celebrate your grace, impact, influence, and distinction.‎

I wish you many more happy and fulfilling years, one rich with Godly ideas, good health, love, and an exceeding grace. May God Almighty continue to prosper you in Jesus name. AMEN!

Your Life Is Beautiful

Recently I have been going through a season of transition (positively) and to tell you the truth, I am so loving everything about it. My life may not be going according to how I thought it would be but it's been all good. I do not regret the hardships I have known because it has made me stronger.

This has also made me realize that despite how hard life can be, there are still things that makes it beautiful. When I hear, see or remember these things it makes me feel good and grateful because not many people have the opportunity or get to enjoy these things.

For example; Good health, family, friends, a home, a smile, a laugh, the happiness in the eyes of someone, a kind word whispered to someone who is having a hard time, the joy of seeing a loved one after a long time, a quarrel that ends with an hug, a small favour made for nothing in exchange, a well told joke, the feeling of the water on my head while showering, a friend that wants you to listen an advice her because he or she trusts you.

A light breeze on a hot day, an unexpected or welcome surprise, finding something to say at the right moment, a light breeze on an hot day, starring at the ceiling before falling asleep, a sky full of stars, and that feeling you get after an illness. Watching a movie you loved when you were young and finding out you still like it the joy in passing an exam or getting a good grade, the blessings that comes from being a blessing unto others, e.t.c.

Just open your eyes and see that your life is beautiful. One of the many things I have learned in this life is that no matter how ugly your past has been, it can be made beautiful if you really want it to be. When you don't even see your beauty others do. So do not dwell in the past and do not worry about the future. Everything that is yours will come to you at the perfect time. Your life has a purpose, don't give up yet.

When you start to figure out what you want in life, there will be obstacles because this life is filled with conundrums. It was designed to be part of our living to shape us into our sense of being. It is meant to teach us to thrive the road of life with courage and faith despite the perils in all the dark corners of it.

Even when it's hard to move, take small steps forward especially during your trying times. Believe in yourself and believe in your decisions because we all have our own unique place and destiny. And when you truly love and accept yourself for who you are, when you truly find yourself, you will find your destiny.

So no matter how hard life treats you now, always keep your head up high because beautiful things will happen when God says it's time.

Be Grateful For What You Are Passing Through

So many times, we wonder why we have to go through pain, some even think they are cursed. Some ask why they must continue to lead the lives they so desperately want to change, and some ask why they haven't been opportune enough. Truth of the matter is, there is always a message in your pain. The opportunity you have been seeking lies within you. They reside in that ugly situation which comes in unrecognizable forms.

11 Ways To Turn Around A Bad Day

I've been having a bad day today, it happens sometimes right? School has been stressing me out, while having lunch today my drink poured on me, and the list goes on. But I have decided I wouldn't let my day end this bad and so I thought: "how can I turn this day around so I don't go to bed crabby?" So I tried this few things and it worked.

1. Listen to your favorite song (positive) song and sing along:  Studies have shown that music can change your mood in a second, listen to your favorite song and sing if you can and dance around like crazy! (I do that often).

2. Write about what's bothering you and don't forget to write about what you're grateful for: Writing things down can release stress and anxiety, it helps you get your things off your chest and no one has to ever see it. Also, write a few things you're grateful(gratitude journal) for so that you remind yourself how blessed you are. This will help you see things from a different perspective.

3. Do some exercise: Even if you don't feel like it. Working out will stimulate blood flow and release endorphins that will help you feel better.

4. Sign out of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram: Social media has done many positive things but there is a dark side. When you're having a bad day it's not a good idea to check your social media since everyone posts about their positive things. You can't help but compare yourself to others and, some days, social media is a really bad idea.

5. Take a shower: Shower has a way of washing away negativity. So whenever you are having a bad day, just try and take a quick warm or cold bath. It increases circulation and gets rid of negative energy.

6. Take some alone time: Take a break, go to the beach or for a walk by yourself. You make time for others so why not make time for you?

7. Meditate: Meditation has quite some very good benefit, when you're having a bad day this is always a good idea.

8. Treat yourself: Sometimes you need to treat yourself right, go buy a new dress, cook your best food, look good and enjoy yourself

9. Help out a stranger: Buy food for that homeless man or girl you see everyday in the street, help an old lady cross the street... This will take the focus out of your own problems when you realize there are others that might have it worse.

10. Laugh: Watch something funny on YouTube, read something funny, anything that will make you laugh. Laughter is the best medicine and a day without laughter is a day wasted.

11. Phone a good friend: Phone a good friend who won't allow you to grip about your problems for more than a few minutes before turning the conversation to something far more interesting than what's making you sad. Talking to someone you trust and who cares to guide you toward positive thinking has tremendous value.
