How To Take Charge Of Your Week

Here is another opportunity to get things right and take what you do to another level - be it in your home, career, business, ministry, finance, academics and social life. So what are you up to and how are things going to turn out for you this new week? Definitely not by sitting down there doing nothing! Should I say, you already have an action plan for each day of the week? Or are you just going to fold your arms and watch things misshapen again this week? Well I really don't know what your expectations are but I certainly know that if you keep dreaming without doing anything, you will remain where you have always been? So here are effective things I do to take charge of my week, I do this preferably on a Sunday night but you can also do it during the early hours of Monday morning. Hope it inspires you to take charge of your week from now forward!

Evaluation

The first thing I do is to evaluate and measure my last week performance. How did it go? What brought me much joy and happiness? What went right for me? What went wrong? What progress I made in my career, passion and profession? What I could have done better? What effort I could have made? e.t.c. Then I would list out everything I did well and areas I need to improve on. I do this either on my phone or on my Goals book. By doing this I am collectively analyzing my activities, characteristics, and possible outcome for what I desire to become. It's purpose is not to criticize or leave one in regret but to be more aware of oneself and improve on what you do daily.

Set Realistic Goals

Anything achievable begins with a goal. - Naomi Destiny

Note the 'Realistic' in the heading? This is because most of us are fond of saying we have goals in mind, we have goals of becoming like this or that person but in actuality they are never realistic, which is why at the end of the day we don't get to achieve anything. Because we are so quick to setting goals that aren't in anyway realistic. Now I'm not trying to say, you shouldn't dream big or aspire to go higher in life but what I'm saying is that, you should set goals that you are capable and sure of bringing to live so it becomes more real to achieve.

The ones who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones that do. - Steve Jobs

So list down top things you are going to do this week that will move you forward in life. Be intentional about it, make sure you put it down on paper, plan it like it's an important appointment (of course...it is) and schedule it (by what day and time it needs to be completed). Whatever these plans are, please make it a priority and don't forget to prioritize if things get too handy.

Meditate

Now this is one good thing that must be done daily. Never a time I go into my week without talking to my maker about it first because He is the reason I have something to do in the first place and whenever I don't involve Him, things crash and falter. I learned from that!

Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established. - Proverbs 16:3 (KJV)

I love how the MSG version of the Bible puts it "Put God in charge of your work, then what you've planned will take place." Note the 'work', 'planned' in the verse, meaning you should have already put some plans in place as mentioned above in the second point. The LORD does not bless an empty hand, He blesses your work/gifts! So make sure you are doing something worthy of His blessings and are also involving Him in it, it brings effortless achievement and sweat-less results. After all, it's been proven that meditation reduces stress, improves concentration, slows aging, increases self awareness and happiness, etc.

Visualize

I did a post on this a few weeks back, you can as well catch up on it here Visualization - A Key To Achieving Your Dreams just in case you missed it. Visualization is the mental image or formation of something in your mind, usually in representation of an object, picture or sets of information in order to remember something or put to action on something. It's an important development and creative tool used by most successful people and it could help you too.

Once you can see it, you can become it. - Naomi Destiny

So, to take charge of your week, I need you to visualize your results and success in mind, it doesn't have to be visibl clear enough, so long as you can see it, you can do it.

Speak Things Into Existence

There is power in your tongue and you can use words to create the kind of life you want to see, it's not magic (It's called the Law of attraction).

Words are the most inexaustible source of magic we can have. - J.K. Rowling

When you decide to focus your attention on something especially by speaking about it with faith, it always manifest in some form or another and you can always use this to your advantage.

Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways. - Job 22:28

So I also did a post on this few months back and you can catch it all up here My 31 Days God Confessions just in case you missed it. Whatever your dreams, goals and aspirations are for the week, make sure you speak and authorize them to come through daily via your words.

Actualize

This is actually the 'doing' aspect of everything we have mentioned before. And like I said, you don't get results by sitting down there doing nothing. You go out there and make things happen! Learn the necessary skills you need to slay your goals, acquire the knowledge and get the training, teachings and mentorship that will spur you to greater heights.

Don't be a passenger in your life, learn to drive. - Anonymous
