Often times, we find ourselves addicted to our smartphone. It’s almost like a part of us is incomplete when separated from it, as more than half of us tend to feel very nervous and uncomfortable when it gets missing.

So, in a bid to be help you become more mindful and intentional this year, I came up with 5 proven ways that saves you time and stress, and also help you improve your productivity.

1. Sit in an upright posture while using your phone

Studies have shown that moving your head forward and having an amount of pressure on your neck and spine while looking down at your cell phone isn’t good for your health. Try holding your phone straight in front of you instead of bending forward, and also try to sit down in a more upright position while typing or reading.

2. Utilize Your Airplane Mode

Put your phone on an airplane mode while working, eating, or doing something very important to minimize distraction and the temptation to log on to social media.

3. Engage Not Scroll

Avoid scrolling through posts on social media passively. Try to engage with other people’s content by liking or commenting. Don’t just be a spectator, be a participant. Connect with great minds and learn from the experiences of others.

4. Have a Social Media Free Day

We understand the pressure to always be on your phone but we also want you to understand the need to greatly have a time to rest, think, and refresh yourself in order to be more productive in life. It will save you much stress and take off distractions that won’t let you focus or concentrate on what’s ahead.

5. Unfollow

There is an unfollow button for a reason. Don’t be afraid to cut off from people and posts that doesn’t edify or benefit you. We live in a free world and cleaning up your feed from time to time helps you avoid drama and unhealthy comparison.
