This is the age of the millennial and your 20’s is the most defining decade in your life. It is therefore wise to invest in a lot of yielding and productive things that will profit you in future years to come because if this stage of your life is not properly planned and nurtured, it can mar your future and if it is properly invested in, it will plant seeds and form life changing habits that will carry you through the rest of your life.

Click To TweetTake a look at all the successful people you know or may have come across, they didn’t become successful over night. They worked hard for it by investing their time, energy, money and resources in themselves.
So, are you in your 20’s right now? That’s nice to know but before you know it, you will be 30 and by then the only question will be whether you gave it your all. Here are few tips on how to make the most of it. Be inspired!
Things don’t just happen and success doesn’t happen over night. Success is a result of small consecutive wins put together. – John C. Maxwell
1. Never stop learning
This is your time to be better informed, to be in line, to be in tune and to be at the peak of what you do. And you can only achieve that by learning and growing from your experience and understanding of things. Remember it’s the most crucial time of your life, it’s the time to learn all things.
Successful people never stop learning.
Register for that course or training session, buy and read that book about your niche, go back to school if you have to, get involved in meaningful causes and submit to mentorships. Consume knowledge like air and be in a constant pursuit to learn above all else because there are no limits to what you can achieve.

2. Invest in your health
It’s so important we understand how necessary our body needs us (never take it for granted). I know you are strong, hale and hearty now because you are still young but with time there is only a limit to what your body can do for you. And it matters now, that you take good care of it, invest in preventive measures to stay healthy and develop healthy eating and lifestyle habits that will maintain your health and help avoid certain health problems in the future.
It’s been proven that eating more fresh fruits and vegetables, drinking more water, reducing intake of sugar and eating less processed foods will improve how you think, look and feel. Read these helpful tips below to learn more:
3. Invest in relationships
Surround yourself with positive and talented minds who share your vision and are heading towards same direction with you. Invest in this kind of people, people who you discern to be heading somewhere with clear goals and visions, people who you believe in, people that believe in you, people you admire and aspire to be like, etc.
Connectivity is advantageous. You need to be connected strategically to excel. – Apostle Joshua Selman Nimmak
Exposure to people who are more successful than you has the potential to expand your capacity and increase your income. Choose your friends wisely and don’t think of what you can benefit only but also what you can contribute.
Your net worth mirrors the level of your closest friends. – Steve Siebold
4. Save to invest. Don’t save to save
I made my share of mistake on this one and I have learned the harder way but I wouldn’t want you to make the same mistake, so I would advise you save money to invest and not just to keep or set aside.
A lot of people in their 20’s are in a hurry to get to where they want to be – graduated, established, in love, promoted, earn billions, etc. They aren’t thinking about future expenses and retirement, they love to live in the ‘now’ moment and are caught up in the pleasures of today forgetting that there is tomorrow. Don’t be part of such people.
Don’t show off, show up. Learn from Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates.
Don’t be in a rush to impress people especially due to societal pressures in order to attain success from their point of view. Take your time and build your life gradually, change your mindset about money, develop multiple streams of income, look for profitable and valuable ways to invest money, don’t shun stocks, learn about these things. Start saving for retirement as early as possible. It’s never too early!

5. Develop your potential
Remember you do not only need to discover your potential, you also need to develop it. This is the best time in your life to harness every inch of potential inside of you, focus on developing your skills and abilities, know your strengths and weaknesses too. Invest in them at this early stage of your life in order to yield greater results for you and you never can tell what door of opportunity could come knocking.
Be committed and determined to see yourself grow, develop and become exceptionally good at what you do and take full responsibility for it. It’s the best chance to add value to yourself and make a difference in the world. Make the most of it!
P.S – I will be running a tweet chat on developing your potential to yield greater results by 7.30pm – 8.00pm this Sunday ( WAT (GMT + 1). Do join me and others on Twitter: @naomidestiny_and hopefully we get to learn from one another.
6. Invest in your night time
I really want to stress on this because this is one area of my 20’s that I’m really investing on right now and it’s not been easy but I’m getting used to it. I think it takes discipline and I feel every 20 something year old out there should learn to use this to their advantage.
You may not have all the time during the day because of work or distractions but the night time is an alone moment time. I make life decisions during this period, I evaluate my life, I pray, I work on what I’m passionate about, I plan my day too, etc. When you are older, you may not have the opportunity to do this, now is the time to stay woke and work hard. Don’t sleep away your destiny! Stay woke! Prioritize and know when to rest too!
7. Invest in the place of prayer
Ever heard of the phrase ”Prayer Is The Master Key”? Yes it is! I am often perturbed when I hear youths say they find it hard to pray and I’m like…really? What are you then doing with your life? Or what are you thinking with your head that’s making it so hard for you to pray? Please don’t even let the devil hear you! Don’t get me wrong, I understand when you are lost for words to say but not having the zeal at all?
You may have to go on a retreat because if you don’t invest in prayer now, when do you want to? Is it when you are old and with grey hairs? Or when all your mates are sharing their own beautiful testimonies tomorrow, then you will just be there with nothing to tell because you didn’t prepare during your youthful age.
P.S – If you need a prayer partner or need someone to hold you accountable on this, I wouldn’t mind connecting or praying along with you. Send me a mail.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. – Philippians 4:6
So you want to slay in life? Start first by slaying in the place of prayer. It will usher you into a higher realm and great dimensions of the spirit thereby causing things to work itself naturally for you. You will find life much easier! WAKE! PRAY! SLAY!
