Most adults daydream about having more time for themselves during the day. To be honest, it seems as if we are always under a lot of pressure to balance everything: taking care of our family, housework, jobs, and social life, and we have so much on our plate that we often forget to take care of ourselves. If you’re struggling to stay on top of all the things you have to do during the day, then these six easy ways will help you stay healthy and beautiful.
1. Get some sleep
Yes, this is actually easier said than done, but you would be surprised to discover just how much sleep deprivation affects not only your mood, but your overall health and well-being too. When you have a career and/or a family, it can be difficult to find a balance, but if your favorite TV show or novels are still stealing your sleep, then it might be a good idea to postpone reading and watching TV until the weekend. They don’t call it ‘beauty sleeps’ for nothing – a good night’s sleep will make those bags around your eyes disappear, your skin will be glowing, and you will be more productive and in a better mood too.
2. Recovery time
It doesn’t matter if we’re talking about hair extensions, weaves, acrylic nails, high heels, skinny jeans or perfect makeup, your body needs time to recover from those not so healthy routines. Unless you give your face and hair some time to recover from all the treatments you’ve been using, it will soon become dry and no amount of hair masks will help you bring it back to life. The same goes for those charming and stylish acrylic nails and heavy makeup – you need to let your face, hair, nails, and skin breathe a little, so that you can stay healthy.
3. Choose to use coconut oil
Unlike those small, expensive packages of oils, creams, and serums, coconut oil is so common that you probably don’t use it for anything other than cooking. That’s a mistake – you should try using coconut oil in your everyday beauty and hair care routine more, and you will soon notice the improvements. Use it as a makeup remover, lip balm, and body oil, make hair masks and body scrubs, and if you run out of shaving cream, it will do the job just as well. Not only is it readily available and completely natural, but it’s also incredibly healthy and good for your overall health.
4. Move around more
We are all aware of the fact that not everyone has enough time and money to join the gym and work out with a personal trainer, but that doesn’t have to stop you from having that dream figure. There are some really easy and truly amazing home workouts which you can do even if you’re busy with taking care of your kids and don’t have too much free time. Sit-ups against the wall while you’re waiting for your coffee to brew, making more trips up and down the stairs on purpose, crunches before taking a shower. The possibilities are many and they’re effective!
5. Straighten your back
Straightening your back will result in good posture, better airflow to your lungs, instant self-confidence boost, and it will make your clothes look better on you. Not to mention that good posture does wonders for your back muscles and makes you appear taller and thinner as well. If you spend a lot of time in front of your computer, you should start reminding yourself to straighten your back until it becomes your habit.
6. Take your vitamins
When was the last time you actually bought fresh fruit and made yourself a smoothie or a fresh juice? Sadly, because so many groceries are genetically modified, there is no way of knowing exactly how healthy those fruits and vegetables we eat actually are. Taking vitamin supplements is a good way to ensure you’re getting the recommended dose of nutrients your body needs to stay healthy. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune, either – there are some reliable yet cheap vitamins on the market, which will help you and your family stay healthy without going bankrupt.
People feel like they have to invest a lot of time and money into maintaining their good looks, when, in reality, only a few simple changes in your routine can give you great results. It’s important to take care of your family and friends, but it’s equally important to take care of yourself and to make your physical and mental health your top priority. After all, you only have one life and one chance to live it, so why wouldn’t you make the most of it?

Great post and I completely agree with all your points!
Excellent recommendations. I love coconut oil so much, it's the best! And I'm always THE WORST at getting good sleep, though I know it's the most important!
Great post and much needed tips! 🙂

Oooohhhh…. Totally agree about the sleep part. I feel and look so much better when I have a set sleeping pattern. Unfortunately, my sleeping pattern at the moment is limited to 3-4 hours of sleep every night. And it definitely shows on my face.

My dad said that good posture was a good way to ensure health and I have sat up straight ever since. I also love essential oils which are amazing for mind, body and soul.
I agree we need to get sleep. You simply cannot function or be healthy without the right amount.
